Center for Social Research Global Analitika, as leading organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the multidisciplinary approach in prevention and countering violence and violent extremism, celebrated International Youth Day – 12th August. This date is a very special date for us because we want to thank all youngsters that are contributing continuously to our society and put huge effort to make it better for of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Every year we celebrate this date by gathering young people, and this year we have denoted it with a press conference in Hotel Ruza in Sarajevo, with the support of our Sports Ambassadors.
Therefore, Global Analitika with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America is implementing the project called “NO EXTREMISM”. The main goal of this project is with the support of Sports Ambassadors – as popular athletes and role models for youth across BiH, to send a unique message of rejecting any form of extremism or intolerance. Through combined sports and art events held throughout BiH, including an interethnic summer sports camp led by prominent athletes, we will strengthen community resilience saying no to extremism! Sports is a social activity that connects people all over Bosnia and Herzegovina through multiethnic sports clubs, competitions and various social gatherings. Sports manifestations have the power to build bridges between individuals and communities by breaking strong social barriers.
By engaging prominent Sports Ambassadors from different sports, accenting the importance of athletes with disabilities, we have found new methods to fight against violent extremism and violence in society and by those means to promote social inclusion and cohesion. With this project, we promote Sports Ambassadors all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the region and the world.
Sports Ambassadors will spend their time with kids and youngsters through sports activities in Mostar, 27-31. August at the summer camp called United Against Extremism. This sports camp will gather more than 200 children from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Our project is supported by prominent athletes from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and from differens sports, and some of them are: Džanan Musa, Marica Gajić, Mesud Pezer, Zvjezdan Misimović, Amel Mekić, Azra Dedić, Milan Mihajlov, Adem Redžović, Nijaz Memić, Lorens Listo, Dino Bajrić, Milica Deura, Denis Agović, Mustafa Mujče Mehić, Ilma Kazazić, Nadir Hajro i Abedin Mujezinović.
Together we all say: NO to EXTREMISM – YES to SPORTS.
